A recent article in the Columbus Dispatch commented that LeBron would do one of two things: Stay in Cleveland….or go to New Jersey. It seems every team in the NBA, including the Cavs, has a bring LeBron to (insert your city here) plan. Before reading this article the only argument I heard for New Jersey was that Jay-Z and LeBron are close friends.
However, this article does supply a sufficient case for New Jersey. Jay-Z has stated that his goals with the Nets are to win championships and become a billionaire. New Jersey is also in a financial situation to stagger their free agent acquisitions over a two year period. For instance LeBron in 2010 and Bosh in 2011. Will Jay-Z’s business sense, a new arena, and the potential of one of the league’s most promising big men be enough to move LeBron to Brooklyn?
Let’s hope not.
