Roy,

Put down the blue and orange kool-aid for a moment. Galo is nowhere near Dirk's league nor will he ever reach that level. The kid is a great shooter, but I see no evidence that he can "beat his man off the dribble." He also is a sieve on the defensive end. IF he reaches his max potential, and it's a big if, he may garnish all-star talk at some point in his career.

David Lee owes nothing to NY. He has been surrounded by horrible teammates since he got there. You are naive if you think Lee is going to sign for 8 million. With all the teams with significant cap space, he can easily get 12 million on the open market.

Chandler is also a solid player but again, he isn't going to become an all star anytime soon.

I won't dignify the Tracy McGrady comments with too much analysis. If you believe McGrady is anywhere near the level of player he once was, I have a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow for you. I also question whether you actually watch him play. He has zero lateral quickness. None. West blew by him like he wasn't even there. The only reason he will take less money from the Knicks is because he won't be getting money from anyone else.

There is always a chance Lebron goes to NY. But you need to take a realistic look at that roster. It has two solid youngsters, no 1st round picks, a FA in Lee and then nothing else. Those are not the things championships are made of.

First of all let me just say that David Lee, Tracy McGrady, and Al Harrington each have stated that money will not be a problem for them this offseason. Lee can get any annual salary of $11-12 million but he would rather stay with the Knicks, a team that has given him a chance to rise to stardom and will finally be able to compete for a championship next season (assuming everything goes according to plan). Tracy McGrady is far from washed up, he hasn't played basketball in over a year and hasn't had his legs since his return. He's been showing improvement in his lateral quickness as well as overall savviness with each passing game. Give him at least 20 games to return to form before judging him; even on one leg Tracy McGrady is still better than anyone on the Cavaliers not named LeBron and Jamison. On top of everything, Jamison was only acquired a few weeks back and isn't coming off major knee surgery. It took Danny Ferry 7 years to acquire a significant player to become the Robin to BatBron. Seven years of utter failure while being equipped with the best basketball player in the world; i think 7 years is enough as it is but this years upcoming failure (the 8th year) will be the last straw. New York with LeBron will become an instant contender and the young talent they already possess beats out anything the Cavaliers have to offer. Danilo Gallinari has been drawing comparisons to Dirk Nowitzki since his Europe league days, you don't find a near 7 footer who is a deadly shooter, on a daily basis; you don't find such talents on a yearly basis. Not only is he a great shooter, but he can take his man off the dribble and facilitate the offense. I would also like to remind you silly cavs fans that this is virtually Galinari's rookie year in the league, he suffered back problems last year and his season was cut very short due to back surgery.

Let's move on to the hilarious" Wilson Chandler is a rich man's Jawad Williams" comments. First time i hear such blasphemy, true comic relief if i may say so myself. Chandler is more athletic than anyone on the Cavs roster aside from LeBron James. To even mention his name in the same sentence with someone as terrible as D-leaguer Jawad Williams is an absolute disgrace. Will the Thrill is blessed with amazing athletic ability, he can score in a variety of ways whether it's off the dribble, the 3 pointer, or his mid range game. He is also a great defender, assigned to guard the opposing teams best players on a nightly basis. His versatility allows him to play multiple positions; the 2 guard, the 3, and he's recently been playing the 4 against legit forwards who completely outsize him in every facet of the game.

You all seem to doubt Donnie Walsh as well as Mike "Antoni" but your logic is flawed. You can't expect the Knicks to be a great defensive team when there is no legitimate big to guard the true centers of the NBA, David Lee can only do so much. D'antoni shouldn't be judged by the scrap heaps and limited flexibility Isiah Thomas left him with. Not often do you go from a team with all-star talents such as Steve Nash, Amar'e Stoudmeire, Shawn Marion to a team that hasn't made the playoffs in a decade, and succeed immediately. Had the Knicks not gone the cap space route, they would have been a playoff team in D'antoni's first year with Jamal Crawford running the point and Zach Randolph helping David Lee down low. They wouldn't be contenders by any means but they would be a playoff team at the very least. The same could be said of the Cavs, without LeBron James they are the cellar dwellers of the NBA, Jamison or no Jamison, the fact stands.

Donnie Walsh has also never stated the Knicks would be going after 2 max free agents, it's a possibilty but not a guarantee. As recently as 2 weeks ago, Walsh stated the additional cap space means good things for David Lee's future as a Knick. You sign Lee to an annual salary of $8-9 million and target a legitimate defensive big such as Marcus Camby for $6-7 million. Then next year Eddy Curry's deal expires and the Knicks are flexible to offer yet another max contract to a Carmelo Anthony or a Chris Paul. New York is a city that can offer LeBron much, much more than Cleveland, the team itself can always bring in quality talent to satisfy LeBron throughout the years.

That's the reality whether you silly Cavs fans like it or not.

Yours Truly,

Liddel McGrady AKA Roy

Don't forget the the Knicks will not be able to draft for the next three years either, they have no first round pick this year and have agreed to traded/flip the two after that.

I don't understand how everyone can point out the fact that D Lee is almost certainly gone and Knicks fans continue to act like they've never heard about it. Wishful thinking is one thing, but using Lee as LeBron bait just doesn't make sense.
