Hopefully Shaq will have time to rest up for the playoffs now...

Here’s a couple things I’ve had on my mind lately

- Positive Take on Shaq’s Injury.  ESPN’s John Hollinger wrote an article recently about Shaq’s injury that highlighted the “silver lining” of this untimely surgery. “By the time we get to mid-May and Cleveland has to face Orlando and/or the Lakers — the two teams Shaq was brought in to match up against — the Cavs should have a healthy Shaq. What’s more, they should have a rested Shaq. The big fella had missed only five games this season before the hand injury and was on track to play his most games in a decade; the two-month break should allow all his other sore limbs to heal before the games that matter most.” I like to think positively so I’m going to roll with Hollinger’s silver lining theory on this one.

-RealGM shout out to NoYork.  The good folks at RealGM.com took the time to link our post of LeBron’s insane alley oop from last night’s game against New York. Thanks for taking the time to shout us out and to all of our readers check out RealGM if you’re not already a fan.

- Cleveland’s Got Sole.  Cleveland’s Got Sole is a non-profit event that will showcase sneaker collections from across the country and highlight clothing companies from around the Cleveland area. NoYork is proud to say that we will have a table at this event on Saturday April 10th at Embassy Suites in Beachwood. We will give more information about this event in the upcoming weeks. Should be a great show and a chance to pick up some nice gear, including NoYork tees!

I hit her, I actually hit that lady with the water, Sasha did you see that?

I hit her, I actually hit that lady with the water, Sasha did you see that?

Winning Without Mo - It’s been nice to see the Cavs winning games despite losing Mo Williams to injury. LeBron has had to put the team on his back at times, but that’s what superstars do right? February is going to be a real test for the Cavs, but here’s hoping their luck with Mo on the bench continues!

LeBron’s water bottle kick - LeBron was fined $25,000 for kicking a water bottle after receiving a technical on Wednesday night. There hasn’t been much talk about this, and if the water hadn’t sprayed into the stands and hit some fans there wouldn’t be any talk at all. LeBron was upset and that’s fine by me. I like athletes to show emotion and LeBron can kick a water bottle now and then. If he would have just finished the play with a monstrous dunk on Sasha none of this would have had to happen.

LeBron and McDonalds - LeBron signed a multi-year deal with McDonalds, adding them to his impressive catalogue of Nike, Coca-Cola, and State Farm. LeBron’s first commercial is slated for Super Bowl Sunday where he and Dwight Howard will play a game of HORSE a la Michael Jordan and Larry Bird back in the day. Off the building, off the scoreboard, off the backboard, nothing but net….

Im Gloria Allred and I hate dunk shots

"I'm Gloria Allred and I hate dunk shots"

Here’s a couple things I’ve had on my mind lately.

- JA Adande’s LeBron to LA article. Adande points out that LeBron would be surrounded by all stars in LA, whether it’s past, present, or future they’re still all stars in his book! He’d be in LA battling for the big city lights with Kobe and the media would eat that up. At least for now, LeBron isn’t doing the same. LeBron’s thoughts on playing for the Clippers, “I have no thoughts on that.”

- LeBron2010.info - This is a new LeBron 2010 website that is extremely well done. There are recaps from every game along with several other very interesting features. There’s the jersey tracker which keeps track of the Cavs record in each different jersey they play in. There’s the team power rankings which gauge who has the best chance at getting LeBron in 2010. And there’s tons of great contract information on the Cavs team and others around the league. Make sure to check this website out!

Shaq being sued for harassment. There’s a woman in Orlando who is suing Shaq for harassing her. She claims that they’ve been seeing each other for over five years, but things got sour when she told Shaq she was possibly pregnant. This same woman has also accused JJ Redick of harassment, had problems with Kenyon Martin, and had the police called to Delonte West’s hotel room in 2006.

At this point she had no credibility, then her lawyer released this statement, “Lopez, who stands two feet shorter than Mr. O’Neal and weighs less than 100 pounds, is determined to take Mr. O’Neal on and hold him accountable for his behavior in a courtroom where size, money and power will not matter and where the final score will be determined by the scales of justice and not by how many dunk shots he makes or how many baskets he scores.” Now she has less than no credibility!

Let’s break down that statement…1) Shaq is taller than this lady. He’s taller than 99% of the population, that’s why he’s in the NBA, who cares? 2) Hold Shaq accountable for his behavior. There is absolutely no evidence that Shaq did anything wrong to this woman besides meeting her in the first place. 3) A courtroom where size, money, and power will not matter. This court room is in Narnia with The Tooth Fairy and Big Foot. 4) The final score will be determined by the scales of justice and not by how many dunk shots he makes or how many baskets he scores. This is a horrible line that a fourth grader would come up with. And what the hell is a dunk shot? Are we talking about George Mikan or Shaquille O’neal here?

- Great trade idea There’s rumors that Cleveland is in the market for Antawn Jamison. I have a great idea for this trade, if it goes through. Let’s workout a deal to bring DeShawn Stevenson to Cleveland, then permanently banish him to our D-League affiliate!!! Wouldn’t it be great to not see DeShawn waving his hand in front of his face after a made three for the Erie BayHawks.

12 Days of Cleveland - The last two days of The Twelve Days of Cleveland will be posted on NoYork.com during the middle of next week. We apologize for the inconvenience, but we’ve decided to make sure the videos are high quality instead of rushing them out. Sorry for the inconsistency. To make up for missing our target date we will be adding a special 13th Day of Cleveland that I’m sure you will all enjoy!

LeBron vs Kobe - The Christmas Day showdown proved three things in the Kobe vs LeBron controversy. 1) The MVPuppets are here to stay and “Dunking on Reindeer” was a great spot. 2) The Cavs are capable of beating the Lakers in Los Angeles. That’s no small feat and hopefully we can repeat it once or twice in June. 3) There will probably never be a definitive answer to who’s better when it comes to Kobe and LeBron, but we know who was better on Christmas Day! A big foam finger to all you Laker fans.

Trade Rumors - There’s a rumor that the Cavs are looking at Washington Wizards Forward, Antawn Jamison. I would love to see Jamison in a Cavs jersey and all my years of hating him as a Wizards player would immediately vanish. There will definitely be a move made before the trade deadline, who knows what the Cavs might be able to work out. If it ends up being Jamison, I would not be upset at all.

NoYork Shirts - We are nearly out of men’s mediums and larges. We will be restocking soon, but if you’re in need of one of these sizes you might want to order quickly. Thanks to everyone who has supported NoYork. Let’s keep Him in Cleveland!

NoYork odds and ends

Here’s a couple things I’ve had on my mind lately.

- Did anyone hear the fan that yelled at Jose Barea during the Dallas game? Barea, who’s listed at 6′0 tall was at the free throw line when a fan yelled “6′0 my ass.” Austin Carr lost it and McLeod tried to play it off, hilarious. (Check the video above)

- Trades/Free Agents. I’ve been wondering why we haven’t heard more about signing Antonio Daniels. Perhaps the team knew that Delonte was close to making another comeback. I would still like to see him in a Cavs uniform. In other news Kevin Martin of the Kings just got a new agent, just something to keep our eye on.

- Ron Artest. I was hoping we could get our hands on Stephen Jackson and I’m still lobbying for Antonio Daniels, but I’m very glad we didn’t sign Ron Artest. I believe that Artest would have been a major distraction to our team. Lately he’s commented on LeBron playing in New York, appeared on The Jimmy Kimmel Show in just his underwear, and claimed it’s normal for him to have a poor free throw percentage in the first third of the season. I’m just glad he’s wearing purple and gold.

- NoYork on Facebook. Check out our Facebook page. If you have pics of LeBron or NoYork shirts post them up for us!

- LeBron’s Headband Theory. LeBron lost his headband against Dallas in mid-air. He made an acrobatic shot as the headband hit the floor. He seemed very upset as he picked the headband up off the ground. Headband Theory still intact…

Here’s a couple things I’ve had on my mind lately

- Kevin Martin to the Cavs. Sacramento rookie Tyreke Evans has been playing so well with Martin injured that there’s talk of the Kings trading Martin. Martin is a prolific and efficient scorer. Who knows how he would fit with the Cavs current team and what the Kings would want in return. Just interesting to think that a quality player like Martin could potentially be on the market.

- Anthony Parker’s 3 point field goal percentage. Parker is off to a great start from beyond the arc shooting just under 55% from three point land. His corner jumper is deadly and really helps to space the floor. Parker is third in the league in three point percentage, but his shooting INSIDE the arc is barely over 30%. It’s always amusing when a player shoots better from long distance than inside the line.

- Next I’d like to thank some people who have been supporting NoYork lately. Thanks to Waiting For Next Year for featuring our “LeBron’s Headband” article in their While We Were Waiting section. Thanks to Justin Wooden for supporting us on Twitter and rocking our shirt around town!

- Games I’m looking forward to in December. There’s some some exciting games coming up in December, most notably the 6th at Milwaukee, the 13th at Oklahoma City, and Christmas day in LA. Then we end the month of December with a home and home vs Atlanta. Should be a fun month!

- Last we have something in store for the end of December on our website. Stay tuned for more details…
