Reggie still haunting the Knicks after all these years
Reggie Miller recently gave his thoughts on LeBron’s upcoming free agency. Miller is quoted as saying, “You’re talking to a small market guy who, for 18 years, was in one place in Indiana. Personally, in my opinion, I want LeBron to stay in Cleveland. I think it’s better for the league when you have superstars in smaller markets.” Reggie also added that, “You don’t always have to be in L.A. or New York to get all the endorsements and be a superstar. Peyton Manning has been the face of the NFL and he’s in Indianapolis.”
It’s great to hear Reggie weighing in on The Summer of LeBron because, as he said, he’s been in the same situation. Reggie was a Pacer through and through. Love him or hate him, you have to respect Reggie for his skills and his loyalty to Indiana.
When I first heard that Reggie wanted LeBron to stay in Cleveland all I could do was laugh. It’s like Reggie will never leave the Knicks alone. He tormented them as a player and he’s even hoping they don’t get their hands on LeBron in 2010. Even though Reggie didn’t say he couldn’t stand the thought of seeing LeBron in New York, I’m sure he was thinking something along those lines.
So thank you Reggie Miller for telling LeBron it’s possible to stay in Cleveland. Thanks for saying that he doesn’t need to play in L.A. or New York. And most of all thanks for being NoYork before this blog even existed!
