Delonte returned to action tonight against Charlotte. He was met by a standing ovation from the Cavs faithful and he didn’t disappoint. He had some great hustle plays in the first half, then started to look for his own shot in the second. He finished the game with 13 points and a solid return.

Last nights game was a breath of fresh air after the Cavs 0-2 start. LeBron was dominant and his jumper looks awesome this year. We got to see more of Z and Andy on the floor, which is a sight that I welcome. Andy played very well, hustling as usual but he also contributed with his opportunistic scoring. Mo Williams was back to his normal self and Boobie hit four threes for the second straight game. Now we need to get win number two against Charlotte.

While watching the game the other night I saw Delonte West on the sideline giving his teammates encouragement as they walked off the court. Of course I was hoping Delonte would be back with the team by the start of the regular season, but something about seeing him, in the arena in street clothes, made it all the more real for me.
The Cavs need Delonte West. Delonte West needs to play basketball. Seems like a perfect match, but I understand why he’s yet to suit up for the Cavs. The team needs to be sure he’s ready to play night in and night out with no let downs or absences from team functions. Having said this, I hope he returns sooner rather than later.
Delonte brings a lot of things to the organization. He’s a very good player who can create his own shot, which is something the Cavs need desperately right now. He also brings a toughness to the team that we seem to be lacking this year. He can penetrate and open things up for some of our shooters and punish teams that double team Shaq and LeBron.
I know that basketball comes second to real life and I hope Delonte is on the road to recovery. Having said that, I know he wants to get back on the court and I can’t wait to see him suit up for the Cavs. And no one has more classic quotes than Delonte!
Highlights from Game Two in Toronto. LeBron James finished with a triple double tonight scoring 23 points to go along with 12 assists and 11 rebounds. Unfortunately James performance was not enough to get the Cavs a victory.
Here are the highlights from the Cavs first game of the season against the Celtics. Unfortunately this game ended in a loss, despite LeBron’s 38 points. The Cavs definitely don’t have the chemistry they had early last year, but it will come. On the bright side, we didn’t play that good, and we had a chance to win the game. Stay tuned for more videos throughout the season.

Earlier this week I’m sure you all read that David Stern said he hoped LeBron would stay in Cleveland. Now we have video proof that the commish wants LeBron to remain loyal to his hometown team. I’m not sure if Stern has LeBron’s ear, but it’s pretty cool when the man in charge of the NBA has the same goal as our blog.
Commish what size shirt do you wear?

Would I look good in royal blue and orange?
In a recent Newsday.com article it was said that LeBron won’t be leaving Cleveland unless something goes horribly wrong this year. The article does believe that if the King decides to leave Cleveland it will be for New York, because they, “have a reputation for treating their players well, a coach and general manager who get it and a super-charged fan base.”
The argument for LeBron staying is that it no longer matters if you play in a big market. The internet and the overall growth of the media and addition of new technology has made accessing your favorite NBA players easier than ever. LeBron is an international star already and moving to New York might actually hurt his image. After all he did just make a movie that focused on his loyalty to his friends and Akron.
At the end of the season LeBron will have a huge choice to make. A choice that we have no control over. A choice that is still 9 months away. So for now, it’s time to focus on the Celtics! 3 more days until opening night…I can’t wait.

Reggie still haunting the Knicks after all these years
Reggie Miller recently gave his thoughts on LeBron’s upcoming free agency. Miller is quoted as saying, “You’re talking to a small market guy who, for 18 years, was in one place in Indiana. Personally, in my opinion, I want LeBron to stay in Cleveland. I think it’s better for the league when you have superstars in smaller markets.” Reggie also added that, “You don’t always have to be in L.A. or New York to get all the endorsements and be a superstar. Peyton Manning has been the face of the NFL and he’s in Indianapolis.”
It’s great to hear Reggie weighing in on The Summer of LeBron because, as he said, he’s been in the same situation. Reggie was a Pacer through and through. Love him or hate him, you have to respect Reggie for his skills and his loyalty to Indiana.
When I first heard that Reggie wanted LeBron to stay in Cleveland all I could do was laugh. It’s like Reggie will never leave the Knicks alone. He tormented them as a player and he’s even hoping they don’t get their hands on LeBron in 2010. Even though Reggie didn’t say he couldn’t stand the thought of seeing LeBron in New York, I’m sure he was thinking something along those lines.
So thank you Reggie Miller for telling LeBron it’s possible to stay in Cleveland. Thanks for saying that he doesn’t need to play in L.A. or New York. And most of all thanks for being NoYork before this blog even existed!
