LeBron looking forward to 2010

Looking forward

Looking forward

In the Sunday Conversation on ESPN LeBron says, “I’m looking forward to the summer of 2010 to see what may happen. But no matter what happens in that summer, I’m still here. I have a nice big house here, that I’m always coming back to. I love this city and I will always give back to this city, no matter if my profession takes me somewhere else.”

These are the type of comments that send a shiver through the entire city of Cleveland. Let’s hope that LeBron will continue to keep playing this cat and mouse game with management forcing them to improve the team. On the positive side LeBron continues to return to Akron for big events in his life. In the end only time will tell.

More Than A Game Screening In Akron

Showing Nationwide in Mid October

Showing Nationwide in Mid October

The documentary, “More Than A Game,” which follows LeBron James and four of his Akron Saint Vincent Saint Mary teammates, was screened in Akron last night to 600 family members and guests. The movie has been shown at several film festivals and will release nationwide in mid October. At a screening in Toronto the documentary got second place in the Audience Choice category behind only the critically acclaimed Slumdog Millionaire. Although the movie will most likely be a major success nationwide, last nights screening mattered more than any before or after. The director of the film Kristopher Belman was quoted as saying, “I’ve screened the film in Singapore, Amsterdam, Chicago and Washington, D.C., but this is the date I’ve had circled on my calendar for a year,” he said.

Top Ten Reasons LeBron Should Not Be A Knick

Two Press Conferences A Year at MSG is ENOUGH!!!

Two Press Conferences A Year at MSG is ENOUGH!!!

There’s a great article on Cavalier Attitude that refutes an article from Real GM’s website. It covers everything from LeBron’s heart to Danilo Gallinari’s potential. This is a great read and I couldn’t agree with it more. New York will never be the place for LeBron. NoYork, NoYork, NoYork, NoYork….

Is LeBron an iPhone or a Blackberry fan?

Bonus Footage Lebron Talks iPhone, Bentley GT’s & Drake! from the.LIFE Files on Vimeo.

A recent interview with LeBron touches on some of the King’s off court preferences. This kind of interview is very interesting to me. They’re not the usual scripted post game interviews where the answers are very generic and measured. Enjoy listening to LeBron unscripted.

LeBron to New Jersey?

A recent article in the Columbus Dispatch commented that LeBron would do one of two things: Stay in Cleveland….or go to New Jersey. It seems every team in the NBA, including the Cavs, has a bring LeBron to (insert your city here) plan. Before reading this article the only argument I heard for New Jersey was that Jay-Z and LeBron are close friends.

However, this article does supply a sufficient case for New Jersey. Jay-Z has stated that his goals with the Nets are to win championships and become a billionaire. New Jersey is also in a financial situation to stagger their free agent acquisitions over a two year period. For instance LeBron in 2010 and Bosh in 2011. Will Jay-Z’s business sense, a new arena, and the potential of one of the league’s most promising big men be enough to move LeBron to Brooklyn?

Let’s hope not.

LeBron to buy 50 kids new shoes

Who wants free shoes?

Who wants free shoes?

LeBron James is less than a week into his tour and he already owes about 50 kids from Illinois free shoes. On Tuesday, at a State Farm even, LeBron promised a group of kids that he would buy them all shoes if he made a half court shot. Of course the King made the shot. Shoe sizes were written down. Promises were kept. Just another day in the life of the King.

LeBron To Keep His Options Open

LeBron keeps us in the dark for another year...

LeBron held a press conference in Akron today to promote the launch of his new Nike Air Max LeBron VII shoe. More importantly LeBron gave us more insight on his plans for 2010. He was quoted as saying, “I signed a contract in 2006 with an option. It would make no sense for me to sign that contract if I didn’t keep my options open. I’ll let you fill in the blanks.”

For our sake let’s hope those blanks don’t include the nine teams that ESPN projects to have enough money for one or more max free agents next year. The New Jersey Nets, New York Knicks, Miami Heat, Minnesota Timberwolves, Houston Rockets, Chicago Bulls, Oklahoma City Thunder, Los Angeles Clippers and Sacramento Kings will all have enough money to sign LeBron and possibly another big contract player.

We’ve all heard the chatter about New York and then there was even a case for LeBron going to Detroit? The Nets are the team that seems the most likely to have the most cap room to sign big time free agents in 2010. But, now the team that looks poised to be a major threat to all us fans of the King seems to be the Los Angeles Clippers!

I know it sounds funny to think of the Clippers as leading the league in any category besides lottery picks, but the Clippers do have an interesting case. The Clippers have a very young team with tons of potential. Consider the appeal of building around Blake Griffith, Eric Gordon, and Al Thornton. Los Angeles is also a big market, which LeBron has expressed interest in and a site that he’s visiting on his world tour this summer.

At the end of his press conference LeBron did add that, “Being home in Akron, Ohio is big for me.” Here’s hoping he’s saying the same thing in 2010…

See you in a couple months.

The NBA officially released their schedule for the 2009-2010 season. The Cavs were reportedly one of three teams fined for “leaking” their schedules before the official release day. As expected the Cavs open with the Celtics at the Q, on October 27th. The Cavs will also headline the NBA’s quintuple header on Christmas Day against the Lakers on ABC. Check out the Cavs full schedule.

Bosh Would Be Cool, But…

Should I sign with the Cavs or the Lakers, lets hear your cases...

"Should I sign with the Cavs or the Lakers, let's hear your cases..."

Brian Windhorst of the Plain Dealer recently gave his opinion on the 2010 free agent market. Windhorst weighed in on the issue after a question was submitted to him by a reader. See his thoughts on whether or not the Cavs can sign another “Max Player.”
